Prof. QU Xing

Qu Xing is currently the President of China Institute of International Studies (CIIS), Chairman of China Arms Control and Disarmament Association and Professor of China Foreign Affairs University.

Born in 1956, Qu Xing graduated from Beijing Foreign Studies University in 1982 and obtained his B.A.  He graduated from China Foreign Affairs University, getting a M.A. in history in 1985. He received his M.A. and doctorate in political science from the Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po) in 1988 and 1992 respectively. Since 1985, he has been teaching at China Foreign Affairs University, serving consecutively as Director of the Teaching and Research Section of China's foreign relations under the Department of Diplomacy, Deputy Dean of the Department of Diplomacy, Assistant to the President of the University, and Vice-President of the University. He was also a professor and doctoral supervisor therein. From January 2006 to August 2009, he served as Minister in Chinese Embassy in France. Since January 2010, he has been serving as the President of China Institute of International Studies.

Additionally, he is also a member of the Foreign Policy Advisory Committee and Public Policy Advisory Panel in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, Vice-President of China National Association for International Studies, council member of the China Foundation for International Studies, Vice-President of the Chinese Association for American Studies, Director of China Center for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Studies, President of China French Research Association, CCTV Special Commentator, and Adjunct Professor of Chinese Academy of Governance.
